Review post for-

I was asked by if I wanted to collabrate and do a review for them. Being a wearer of glasses myself, (I need to wear them for driving and watching TV) I was very excited to get some new glasses.

What you need to know was lauched in 2015 and they are one of the largest online providers of prescription glasses and sunglasses in New Zealand.

There are over 3000 frames to choose from, offering a wide variety of brands and styles. So you should find something on there which is affordable as well as being able to browse through the premium brands. There are roughly 31 different designer frames on the website.

The price of the glasses starts from $9, meaning that they are 14 times cheaper than most high street stores. The $9 glasses includes standard prescription lenses with FREE anti-reflective coating.

Prescription sunglasses begin at $49 and there are over 500 styles to look at, there are also a number of designer labels which you may find are well within your budget.

If you live in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch you can expect your glasses to be with you within 10 working days, if you live outside of these areas you will need to allow an extra 2 working days for delivery.

Hesistant about buying glasses online?

Worried to purchase without trying them on first? I thought about this too. has a virtual mirror, so you can see what you look like in the glasses before selecting the BUY NOW option. And if you haven’t fallen in love with your glasses than there is a 90 day unconditional returns option.

Still not sure about the glasses, well there is also the option to an Home Trial, you can select up to four frames to try on at home, 30 styles to choose from. You can see how they look, fit and ask for your family and friends opinions. If you choose this option, the frames can be with you within 24 hours, try them on, love them? Then place an order and pop your trial box in the mail, Freepost.

I had a good browse through the Women’s glasses and the frames I chose are called Walden Daring.

Description: (taken from website)

  • An elegant and stylish pair of full rimmed glasses
  • This pair benefits from slender arms with flex hinges.
  • Secure but relaxing on the nose due to the fine finish.

I thought they were different to the current prescription glasses that I have. I used the virtual ‘Try-on’, which was really easy to use. I took a photo of myself using the camera on my phone and when I had done that it uploaded the glasses onto my face, so I had a really good idea if they suited me or not.

I would recommend using the ‘Try-on’ option, just gives you a rough idea as to whether the glasses suit you or not, plus it was really easy to use.

The verdict.

When the glasses arrived they were well packed. The case was inside a small bubble bag, which was inside a larger bubble bag. Upon opening the case, you can see that they were well packaged and no scratches or a marks.

To me I thought that the frames look a tad darker than on the website, I have noticed that this can occur for most things when bought online. It can be a gamble buying anything, will I like it, will they suit me? Using the virtual ‘try-on’ definitely helped and I would highly reccommend doing that or using the Home Trial option.

The glasses are lighter in weight that I thought they would be. On the website the measurements are given of each pair of glasses to help you decide if the frames are the right ones for you.

The frames are a little bigger than my other glasses so it has taken me a few looks in the mirror to get used to seeing bigger frames on my face. I do really like them and I am really pleased with my choice of glasses.

If you are looking for a new pair of glasses or just a second pair to keep in the car or use at work, or even to match a favourite outfit, I’m sure a visit to optically will help you decide.

You can find Optically on

Overall I am really happy with my glasses, a HUGE thank you to optically for gifting me a pair of glasses to review.

Guest Blog for Romantic Gestures- How My Relationship Changed Through Post Natal Depression

At the end of last year Romantic Gestures were asking for Guest Bloggers to write for them, regarding relationships.

I love to write and thought I would get in touch and see if I could write something for the website. I heard back from the lovely Natasha, and now I have had two pieces of my writing published on their Blog which is featured on their website.

Romantic Gestures is a website which has been developed by Natasha and her husband Russell. They believe that in the busy world which we live in these days often partners, husbands and wifes can become ‘busy’ and maybe not have enough time for one another.

If you are looking for some ideas, to help you in your relationship or would like to surprise the special someone in your life, Natasha and Russell can help you.

I have my own section on the website called Bliss Bites and you can find the two posts I have written so far on there.

Kiwi Mummy Blogs Review- Write Size, writing pencils for children.

kmb_grey-pink I was given the great opportunity by Kiwi Mummy Blogs to review Write Size- writing pencils for children.

Write Size are writing pencils for children, with the aim to ‘Deliver results and great handwriting’

I was really impressed with the way they came packaged in a canvas type drawstring bag. The three packs of pencils as well as some information was supplied in the bag.

The pencils originate from the West Midlands in Great Britain. They were developed four years ago by Ross Williams- Managing Directior “Write Size has been developed through personal experince of watching my children struggle to learn to write with tools which are obviously too big for them.” With his knowledge of working in the construction trade he was aware how crucial it is to have the right tool to carry out a job successfully.

The pencils were launched in the UK at the London Stationary Show in March 2015. They have been well recieved with positive comments from teachers and parents. You can read more about the launch via the blog on the Write Size Website.

Now, the important bit about the pencils.

The Write Size pencils come in 3 sizes,

  • 2-6 years- Learn control and grip
  • 6-10 years- Improve confidence and ability
  • 10+ years- Deliver results and great handwriting

The pencils are different sizes, depending on the age of the child using it. The size will help the child have better control when using the pencil, if the pencil is the wrong size (too small or big), the child will not get the benefit.

I asked a good friend who has two school aged daughters if they would be kind enough to review the 6-10 years and the 10+ years pencils. I felt my children who are aged three and almost two, might not be ready to use a pencil. Although , saying that my daughter who will turn four in June is already writing her name so I should get her to try the 2-6 year old pencils. (Perhaps another review, another time?)

Gwyneth 11 years old, likes art and crafts, drawing doodling and writing

What did you think of the pencils?
I liked them – they were really good, they were easier than most pencils to use

It improved my writing & made it easier to add fine details when I was drawing. I would recommend them and buy them again.
They were comfortable and didn’t make your hand ache even after writing for awhile.
I used them for maths at school, and a lot of drawing with them.
I was impressed with them.

Can you buy them?

Sure! As of the beginning of this year, they became avaliable in New Zealand, and are for sale in Warehouse Stationary. Each pack costs $9.99 and contains 5 pencils.

They are also avaliable in the UK through the Write Size Website Shop.

Care of the pencils

You are advised to use a jumbo sized pencil sharpener to sharpen your Write Size pencils and they should be sharpened at least once during a school week.

The pencil should be changed when the three coloured lines no longer sit above your child’s hand when they are using it.
